Sky1 Orders Couples Game Show 'Wild Things' – TVWise

Sky1 has ordered Wild Things, a new couples game show featuring a woodland obstacle course.
Wild Things is set in a forest which contains a woodland obstacle course and follows couples as they overcome a series of challenges, while one member of each team is dressed up in a suite designed to look like a woodland animal. The suits prevent the contestant from seeing and so they must be guided to victory by their partner.
The series, which is a co-production between IWC/Mad Monk and GroupM Entertainment, has received an order for six hour-long episodes and will enter production immediately for a 2015 premiere. Wild Thing was commissioned by Sky Entertainment’s Commissioning Editor Chris Brogden and is being executive produced by Gary Monaghan and Abigail Adams.
“Wild Things is like nothing we’ve seen before – a surreal and side splittingly funny concoction of giant woodland creatures, bickering couples and pots of gold. It’s a big, daft slice of genius”, said Sky1 Director Adam MacDonald.
Executive Producer Gary Monaghan commented: “It’s brilliant that Sky have had the courage and belief to back a show where it’s perfectly acceptable to watch a giant squirrel tripping a giant rabbit whilst a husband argues about directions with his wife… who is dressed like a giant owl”.
While Sky Entertainment’s Commissioning Editor Chris Brogden added: “We loved the idea as soon as we heard about it. It’s exactly the type of entertainment commission that we embrace on Sky 1 – fun for the family, vibrant and completely unique..”
