Netflix Sets December Premiere For 'Marco Polo' – TVWise

Netflix’s newest original series Marco Polo is set to premiere this December.
The streaming giant has announced that the 10 episode “epic” from Harvey Weinstein’s production company will premiere on Friday December 12th in all territories where Netflix has a presence – including the United States, the United Kingdom & the Republic of Ireland and Latin America, amongst others.
Marco Polo follows the famed explorer’s journey as it takes him to the center of a brutal war in 13th century China, a world replete with astonishing martial arts, sexual intrigue, political skullduggery and spectacular battles.
The series, which was originally set up at Starz before moving to Netflix earlier this year, is being toplined by Italian actor Lorenzo Richelmy and also stars Benedict Wong (Prometheus), Zhu Zhu (Cloud Atlas), Tom Wu (Skyfall), Remy Hii (Treading Water) and Rick Yune (Olympus Has Fallen).
Marco Polo was penned by John Fusco and is being produced by The Weinstein Company. The series was shot in Italy, Kazakhstan and Pinewood Studios, Malaysia and is executive produced by Dan Minahan, John Fusco and Harvey Weinstein. Espen Sandberg and Dan Minahan are the directors.
