The fourth season of MTV’s comedy series Awkward will receive its UK premiere on MTV UK on Wednesday September 17th at 9pm with a double-bill, before moving to its regular 9:30pm time-slot the following week, it has been announced.

Created by Lauren Iungerich, Awkward follows fifteen-year-old Jenna Hamilton, whose life changes when a simple accident becomes a misunderstanding of epic proportions that leads everyone to believe she tried to commit suicide. The comedy series stars Ashley Rickards as Jenna, Beau Mirchoff as Matty, Molly Tarlov as Sadie, Jillian Rose Reed as Tamara, Brett Davern as Jake, Nikki DeLoach as Lacey, Desi Lydic as Valerie, Jessica Lu as Ming, Mike Faiola as Kevin and Greer Grammer as Lissa.

In the show’s fourth season, which once again runs an extended length of 20 episodes, Jenna and her friends are embarking on their senior year– an intense time fraught with anxiety about making the transition from dependent adolescent to independent adult. With a school year filled with events like senior sleepover, ski trip, a male beauty pageant, class picture, spirit week and many other adventures, it’s a season of last chances, old and new romances and big risks.
