ABC is adding to the cast of their next Marvel series.
One Tree Hill star Chad Michael Murray and Dollhouse alum Enver Gjokaj have joined the cast of the network’s upcoming drama series Marvel’s Agent Carter, which is being toplined by Hayley Atwell, TVWise has learned.
The 8 episode series, which was picked up with a straight-to-series order this past May, follows Agent Carter (Atwell), the character from Captain America and Captain America: Winter Solider as she undertakes missions for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve) at the behest of Howard Stark.
Chad Michael Murray has been cast as Agent Jack Thompson, while Enver Gjokaj will play Agent Daniel Sousa, both of whom meet Agent Carter when she takes on a new role at the Strategic Scientific Reserve – the 1940’s version of S.H.I.E.L.D. – in New York City
Executive produced by Michele Fazekas, Tara Butters, Steve McFeely, Christopher Marcus and Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Agent Carter is based on the One Shot from the Iron Man DVD and was penned by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The show, which does not yet have a premiere date, is envisioned as a “bridge” between the fall and midseason runs of Marvel’s Agents of Shield.
