UKTV’s Watch channel has ordered Bin There, Dump That, a six episode ob-doc series about Britain’s waste industry from BSkyB’s Sky Vision Productions.

Bin There, Dump That follows a group of eclectic characters who love their jobs in the waste industry. Leading the group is Andy Reston, who started out as a truck driver an now runs Reston Waste. Andy Reston’s daughter Harriet, his right hand man Danny Childs, Paul Black and renowned street cleaner J.D. also feature in the series.

“With the help of a fantastic cast featuring the unsung heroes of Britain’s waste disposal industry, we’re lifting the lid on this little known and surprising world”, said Executive Producer Danny Tipping. “We’re thrilled to be producing our first original ob doc for the channel.”

Sky Vision Productions is producing Bin There, Dump That, with Danny Tipping, Sky Vision Productions Director of Programming & Development, serving as the executive producer. UKTV’s Senior Commissioning Editor Catherin Catton and Watch’s General Manager Steve North commissioned the series, which is slated to air on Watch later this year.

“Bin There, Dump That is the latest in a line of exciting new shows coming to the channel in the next year. It demonstrates our commitment to investing in new and unique content for Watch”, said North. “The enthusiasm and sense of humour of the characters is what makes the show so entertaining.”

This is the latest original commission made by UKTV for flagship entertainment channel Watch. Other recent commissions for the channel include a new season of David Attenborough’s Natural Curiosities and singing show Singing In The Rainforest. As part of their increased content spend for Watch, UKTV has also recently secured the exclusive rights to new US series Resurrection and The Strain.
