Sanjeev Bhaskar is the latest actor to book a guest starring role on the upcoming eighth season of Doctor Who, which premieres on BBC One and BBC America on Saturday August 23rd.
Bhaskar will appear in the season 8 finale, though exact details of his character are being kept firmly under wraps. He joins Michelle Gomez, Frank Skinner, Ben Miller, Tom Riley, Keeley Hawes and Hermione Norris; all of whom were previously confirmed to have landed guest roles on the new season.
The actor, repped by United Agents, starred in the recent revival of The Kumars for Sky1 and had a key role in the pilot for BBC Four’s Puppy Love, but exited the comedy when it landed a series order late last year.
“I’m thrilled to have made a small contribution to and now be part of the Doctor Who universe”, said Sanjeev Bhaskaar. “Another dream box ticked!”
While Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat added: : “I’m completely thrilled that Sanjeev Bhaskar is coming to the aid of the Doctor. The danger is never deadlier than in a finale episode, and the Time Lord is going to need all the help he can get!”
