Kidscreen Summit is moving to Miami, Florida next year, TVWise has learned.
The annual market for Kids content offers panels on important issues and trends in the international kids entertainment industry, as well as opportunities for attendees to network with leading decision-makers and the close to 400 buyers who attend the event in search of new content and partners. Last year’s Kidscreen Summit took place in New York and played host to more than 1600 attendees from 47 countries.
Kidscreen Summit 2015 will take place between February 23rd and February 26th at the Miami InterContinental. The new venue is a luxury hotel located on prime waterfront in downtown Miami, just minutes away from South Beach.
The decision to move Kidscreen Summit from its previous home in New York to the sunnier Miami setting comes after a survey of recent attendees highlighted concerns of weather-related travel issues and a lack of suitable venue alternatives in New York.
With today’s announcement of the move, Kidscreen Summit becomes the second major TV market to relocate to Miami. NATPE (National Association of Television Program Executives) relocated their US market to the city back in 2011.
