FX has picked up a second season of their event series Fargo, the network announced at their TCA panel today.
The network has ordered 10 episodes for the second season, which is slated to air on the network by Fall 2015. The new season of Fargo will feature an all-new cast of characters, a new time period and a new “true crime” story. The “all-star” cast of the new season will be revealed at a later date.
The debut season starred Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman, Collin Hanks, Kate Walsh, Joey King, Josh Close, Bob Odenkirk, Oliver Platt, Allison Tolman, Glenn Howerton, Peter Breitmayer, Tom Musgrave, Russell Harvard and Adam Goldberg. Fargo is produced by FX Productions and MGM Television, with Noah Hawley, Warren Littlefield, Joel & Ethan Coen and Geyer Kosinski serving as executive producers.
“We could not be more proud of Fargo,” said John Landgraf, CEO of FX Networks & FX Productions. “Noah’s audacious, bordering on hubristic riff on my favorite Coen brothers film earned 18 Emmy nominations – the most for a single program in our history. Fargo was nothing short of breathtaking and we look forward to the next installment.”
