Earlier this week, news broke that True Blood alum Carrie Preston would be returning to The Good Wife for its upcoming sixth season. Preston, of course, quickly became a fan favourite for her role as quirky attorney Elsbeth Tascioni after her initial appearance in the season one episode Mock and has since appeared in every season of the show.
That said, while CBS confirmed Carrie Preston’s return on the upcoming sixth season of The Good Wife, the network declined to comment on just how many episodes she would be appearing in. But TVWise can now exclusively reveal that the Emmy award winner is presently signed on for two episodes, though the actress herself has left the door open for further appearances during the season.
“I’m only signed on for two episodes at the moment, but that doesn’t mean that there might not be more”, Carrie Preston told TVWise. “I have no idea what the storyline is going to be, but I am really excited to see what they have in store for Elsbeth because they haven’t disappointed me yet. I trust them implicitly and it will be fun to go back.”
The Good Wife has been a key series on CBS’ slate for the past several years, with Nina Tassler describing the Julianna Margulies fronted drama as “an incredible show” at the Television Critics Association’s 2014 Summer Press Tour. The show’s sixth season, which will see Josh Charles returning to direct an episode, premieres on CBS on Sunday September 21st at 9/8c.
