Vincent D’Onofrio Cast In Netflix’s ‘Daredevil’ – TVWise

Law & Order: Criminal Intent star Vincent D’Onofrio has joined the cast of Netflix’s 13 episode Marvel drama series Daredevil.
Daredevil follows Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses and fights against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.
Vincent D’Onofrio has been cast as Wilson Fisk, a powerful businessman whose interests in the future of Hell’s Kitchen will bring him into conflict with the blind attorney Matt Murdock and his alter ego Daredevil. He joins previously announced main cast member Charlie Cox, who has been cast as series lead Matt Murdock.
“We’re incredibly proud to have an actor with the gravitas and versatility of Vincent joining ‘Marvel’s Daredevil’in such an integral role,” said Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television. “Wilson Fisk is an iconic villain whose cunning and power make him the dangerous equal of our hero.”
Daredevil is being produced for Netflix by Marvel and ABC Studios as part of a bumper deal between the companies for four drama series and one mini-series connecting the aforementioned series – all of which will be set and shot in New York City.
The 13 episode drama is being penned by Drew Goddard, who stepped down as showrunner last month, after having written the scripts for the opening two episodes. Spartacus creator Steven S. DeKnight has joined the series as the new showrunner and will executive produce alongside Drew Goddard and Jeph Loeb.
