Sky1 has given the green-light to After Hours, a six episode comedy series from Molly Naylor and John Osborne which is being toplined by relative newcomer James Tarpey.
After Hours follows Willow Hannigan, an 18 year old who has just had his heart broken. With most of his friends having left for university, the only thing keeping Willow sane is his best friend Chris and listening to local internet radio show After Hours, which is broadcast from a canal boat.
James Tarpey, repped by United Agents, has been cast in the lead role of Willow Hannigan. The cast also includes Ardal O’Hanlon as Peter Hannigan, Willow’s dad; Jaime Winstone as Lauren, who runs the internet radio show After Hours; Georgina Campbell as Jasmine, Willow’s ex-girlfriend; Fergus Van Gelder as Chris, Willow’s best friend; Rob Kendrick as Ollie, who runs After Hours with Lauren; Susan Cookson as Anna, Peter’s wife; and John Thomson as Geoff, Peter’s best friend.
The six episode comedy series was created by Molly Naylor & John Osborne and is being produced by Jellylegs Productions. The executive producers are Lucy Lumsden, Lucy Ansbro and Craig Cash, who is also attached to direct. BSkyB’s international distribution division Sky Vision will handle global sales for the series. Production on After Hours is now underway for a 2015 premiere.
