The second season of Cinemax’s original drama series Banshee will receive its UK premiere on Sky Atlantic on Monday July 7th at 10pm, it has been announced.

Created by Jonathan Tropper & David Schickler and executive produced by True Blood showrunner Alan Ball, Banshee follows Lucas Hood, an ex-con and master thief who assumes the identity of the sheriff of Banshee, Pa., where he continues his criminal activities, even as he’s hunted by the shadowy gangsters he betrayed years earlier. The drama series stars Antony Starr, Ivana Milicevic, Ulrich Thomsen, Frankie Faison, Rus Blackwell, Ryann Shane, Ben Cross, Demetrius Grosse, Trieste Kelly Dunn, Matt Servitto, Lili Simmons, Hoon Lee and Daniel Ross Owens.

In the opening episode of the show’s second season, Lucas, Carrie and the Banshee Sheriff’s Department (BSD) are interrogated by FBI special agent Jim Racine (Zeljko Ivanek), following their bloody shoot out with Rabbit. Meanwhile, Proctor sets his sights on persuading Rebecca to return to his care. As Gordon stews over his wife’s betrayal, Deva shows off her resourcefulness after being caught shoplifting in a mall. Later, a straightforward armored-truck robbery turns into a dangerous high-speed chase involving a mysterious motorcycle pursuer.
