Elden Henson has joined the cast of Netflix’s upcoming 13 episode Marvel series Daredevil, TVWise has learned.
Daredevil follows Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses and fights against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.
Elden Henson has been cast as Foggy Nelson, Matt Murdock’s best friend and legal partner. In a town full of crime and corruption, Foggy’s friendship to the community and passion for improving it have made him a friend to its many residents from all walks of life.
The veteran actor, whose previous credits include Psych, El Dorado and Intelligence, joins a cast which is being led by Charlie Cox (Boardwalk Empire) and also includes Vincent D’Onofrio (Law & Order: Criminal Intent) and Rosario Dawson (Sin City).
The 13 episode drama series is being produced for Netflix by Marvel and ABC Studios and was written by Drew Goddard, with Spartacus showrunner Steven S. DeKnight on board as showrunner. Production begins later this year for a 2015 premiere.
“Elden plays one of the most important characters in the world of ‘Marvel’s Daredevil,’ and we’re thrilled to see Foggy Nelson brought to life by such an incredibly talented actor,” said Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television.
