WE TV has given the greenlight to South Of Hell, a “gripping supernatural thriller”, which hails from Matt Lambert, Eli Roth, Sonar Entertainment and Blumhouse Productions.
South Of Hell is set in Savannah, Georgia and follows Maria Abascal, a demon hunter whose power stems from within. The drama seriesm which has received an order for 8 episodes, was created by Matt Lambert. The executive producers are Jason Blum, Gerard Bocaccio, Stewart Till, Stein, Eli Roth and James Manos, Jr, who also serves as showrunner. Roth will also direct the opening episode.
A sister network of AMC, WE TV only entered the scripted space last year when they handed a series order to The Divide, a crime drama which had originally been set up at AMC. South Of Hell becomes the second scripted drama the network has green-lit over the past year. WE TV is developing numerous other projects as they are looking to establish their “scripted brand.”
