TVWise continues our Upfronts coverage with a first look image gallery of the new shows that Fox has ordered for the 2014-2015 season.
Fox made a big claim earlier this year – “we’re abandoning pilot season.”
To a certain extent they did, with fewer pilot orders that were “geared towards series orders”, but on the other hand they made the decisions on which were going to series in the past week at the traditional end of pilot season.
Big announcements aside, how many pilots went to series? On the drama side, the network picked up all three of their pilots, but there were no new comedy pick ups, with only Mulaney, which was picked up to series in October 2013, getting a back order. With those pick ups, Fox has 11 new scripted series for the 2014-2015 season.
The network has new dramas Backstrom, Heiroglyph, Red Band Society, Empire and the heavily anticipated Gotham. While on the comedy front the network has the aforementioned Mulaney, the self explanatory The Last Man On Earth, Weird Loners and Seth MacFarlane’s new animated series Bordertown.
Fox is also continuing with their push into event series, with both Wayward Pines and Gracepoint (the US adaptation of Broadchurch) set to air during the 2014-2015 season.
The network has now released the first images from a number of the new comedy, drama and event series, which are available in the gallery below.
