E4 Orders Kevin McHale Fronted Panel Show 'Virtually Famous' – TVWise

E4 has green-lit Virtually Famous, a panel show hosted by Glee alum Kevin McHale which will feature viral internet content.
The series, which has received an 8 episode order, was piloted earlier this year and will see Chris Stark and Seann Walsh sevre as team captains as their respective teams battle “for points over the online moments that have got millions laughing.
Virtually Famous is a co-production between Talkback and Hungry Bear Media. The eight part series, which will air later this year, was commissioned by Commissioning Editor Jilly Pearce and Channel 4’s Head of Formats Dom Bird.
Entertainment formats looking at viral content have been on the increase in recent years. US network Syfy aired Viral Video Showdown in late 2012, which challenged contestants to create viral videos; while more recently ITV2 commissioned Viral Tap, fronted by Caroline Flack.
