HBO Shifts 'The Leftovers' Premiere To June 29th – TVWise

The rapture is being pushed back by two weeks.
HBO has announced that their new drama series The Leftovers will now premiere on Sunday June 29th at 10/9c instead of on the previously announced date of Sunday June 15th at 10/9c. It is understood that the premium cabler decided to shift the premiere after production on The Leftovers was took a hiatus earlier this month for writers to properly craft the final episodes of the show’s first season.
The Leftovers is set just after the apocalypse. When the Rapture happened, but not quite like it’s supposed to. The series tells the story of the people who didn’t make the cut and a world that will never be the same. The drama, from Warner Bros. Television, stars Justin Theroux, Amy Brenneman, Christopher Eccleston, Liv Tyler, Chris Zylka, Margaret Qualley, Carrie Coon, Emily Meade, Amanda Warren, Ann Dowd, Michael Gaston, Max Carver, Charlie Carver, Annie Q, Paterson Joseph and Brad Leland.
