Syfy is planning to use two scripted series as the backbone of their Summer schedule with a new Thursday night drama block.
The genre network today announced that they will be premiering the second season of their cross-platform series Defiance on Thursday June 19th at 8/7c. Defiance will then be used as a launching pad for freshman Dominion which will debut on Thursday June 19th at 9/8c.
Based on the 2010 feature film Legion, Dominion is set 25 years after the events of the movie and picks up in the aftermath of a catastrophic war between an army of angels and mankind that has transformed the world. The series follows the perilous journey of a rebellious young soldier, set against a backdrop of the ultimate celestial battle as it touches down on earth. The drama series is produced by Universal Cable Productions & Bold Films and stars Christopher Egan (Kings), Tom Wisdom (300), Roxanne McKee (Game of Thrones), Alan Dale (Lost), Anthony Stewart Head (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Luke Allen-Gale (The Borgias).
