Keke Palmer has joined the cast of Showtime’s period drama series Masters of Sex in a recurring role for its upcoming second season, TVWise has learned.
Palmer, whose other television credits include 90210 and Full Circle, has been cast as Coral, the nanny hired by the Masters to care for their new baby. She is the latest actor to board the show’s second season with Annaleigh Ashford having been upped to regular status; while Allison Janney is also set to reprise her role from season one. Production on season two begins later this month in Los Angeles.
Based on Thomas Maier’s book, Masters of Sex follows the real-life pioneers of the science of human sexuality, William Masters and Virginia Johnson. The series chronicles the unusual lives, romance and pop culture trajectory of Masters and Johnson. Their research touched off the sexual revolution and took them from a mid-western teaching hospital in St. Louis to the cover of Time magazine and nearly a dozen appearances on Johnny Carson’s couch. The drama series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and stars Michael Sheen, Lizzy Caplan, Caitlin Fitzgerald, Nicholas D’Agosto and Teddy Sears.
