The second season of BBC One’s comedy series Blandings will premiere on Sunday February 16th at 6:30pm, it has been announced.
Based on the Blandings Castle series by noted author PG Wodehouse, Blandings is set in 1929 in the fictional Blandings Castle and follows the amiable but befuddled Lord Clarence Emsworth, who struggles to keep his dysfunctional family in order and usually adds to the chaos himself. All Clarence wants is to be left at peace with his beloved pig The Empress but his plans are often thwarted by an array of friends, visitors, servants and spongers. The series is produced by Mammoth Screen and stars Timothy Spall (The King’s Speech), Jennifer Saunders (Absolutely Fabulous) and Jack Farthing (Da Vinci’s Demons). In the opening episode of the show’s second season, titled Throwing Eggs, The Duke of Dunstable – the most obnoxious man in England – has come to stay at Blandings. Not content with smashing the fixtures, he is determined to have Clarence committed as a lunatic.
