TV Land is moving forward with their Jamie Pressly fronted comedy Jennifer Falls. The network today handed an 8 episode order to the project, which will premiere this Summer.
Originally conceived of as a multi-camera comedy, Jennifer Falls is a single-camera comedy which revolves around Jennifer Doyle (Pressly), a career woman and mother who must move back in with her own mom after being let go from her high-powered, six-figure salary job. With her teenage daughter in tow, Jennifer has to face her new life, trying to reconnect with old friends in her hometown and making ends meet as a waitress in her brother’s bar. TV Land Originals are producing with Matthew Carlson, Michael Hanel and Mindy Schultheis serving as executive producers.
With the pick up Jennifer Falls becomes the first original single camera comedy series and the fifth original series that the network currently has on tap, joining the likes of Hot In Cleveland, The Exes, Kirstie and The Soul Man. “We are really excited to make this foray into single-camera comedy,” said Larry W. Jones, President of TV Land. “With Jaime at the helm and such high-caliber talent behind the camera, we have the perfect combination for this multi-dimensional series.”
