The Practice alum Camryn Manheim has joined the cast of CBS’ upcoming summer event series Extant as a series regular, TVWise has learned.
Manheim has been cast as Sam Barton, Molly’s best friend and closest confidant. Manheim joins a cast which is being led Oscar winner Halle Berry, who is also serving as a co-executive producer.
Created by Mickey Fisher, Extant is a futuristic thriller about a female astronaut (Halle Berry) trying to reconnect with her family when she returns after a year in outer space. Her experiences lead to events that ultimately will change the course of human history. The drama series is being produced by Amblin Television & CBS Television Studios with Steven Spielberg, Greg Walker, Mickey Fisher, Brooklyn Weaver, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank serving as executive producers. CBS Studios International will handle global distribution.
