A+E Networks UK is adding a well known scripted series to the launch schedule of Lifetime UK, which launches tonight at 8pm in Bio’s old slot.

I’ve learned that the company has picked up The X-Files from Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution for their daytime schedule and will begin airing the series Monday-Friday in the 9am time-slot as of Tuesday November 5th.

Created by Chris Carter, The X-Files follows FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully as they investigate reported cases of the supernatural which are contained in the bureau’s secret archive known colloquially as “X-Files.” The series, which aired nine seasons of Fox in the United States between 1993-2002 and spawned two feature films, was produced by 20th Century Fox Television and starred David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Mitch Pileggi, William B. Davis, Robert Patrick and Annabeth Gish.

This marks the latest scripted acquisition for Lifetime UK. Ahead of tonight’s launch the channel has quietly completed a number of deals with various distributors including Sony Pictures Television and Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution to pick up such scripted series as The Client List, Damages, Witches of East End and Bonnie & Clyde for their primetime schedule.
