FOX Acquires UK Rights To Canadian Drama Series 'Endgame' – TVWise

FOX UK has sealed a deal to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to Canadian drama series Endgame, TVWise has learned. The series, which was cancelled after one low rated season on the Canadian network Showcase, is set to premiere on FOX UK on Saturday November 30th at 7pm.
Created by Avrum Jacobson, Endgame follows Arkady Balagan, a brilliant chessmaster who, following the murder of his fiancée, developed agoraphobia and is now terrified of leaving his luxury Vancouver hotel. Now, from the confines of his hotel room, he uses his extraordinary skills of perception and strategic thinking to solve crimes that have stumped others. The drama series is produced by Thunderbird Films in association with Front Street Pictures & Shaw Media with participation of the Canada Media Fund and stars Shawn Doyle, Torrance Coombs, Patrick Gallagher, Katharine Isabelle, Melanie Papalia and Carmen Aguirre.
The pick up of Endgame is the latest scripted acquisition for FOX UK. The channel, which is home to such series as The Walking Dead, Da Vinci’s Demons, American Dad, Burn Notice, Louie, Eastbound & Down and American Horror Story, recently inked deals to acquire the latest seasons of animated series The Cleveland Show and Family Guy, as well as sports documentary series Being: Mike Tyson and TNT’s new 6 episode drama series Mob City, which hails from The Walking Dead‘s Frank Darabont.
