FOX Acquires UK Rights To IFC's 'The Spoils Of Babylon' – TVWise

FOX UK has closed a deal to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to IFC’s upcoming original comedy mini-series The Spoils of Babylon, TVWise has learned. The six episode mini-series is set to premiere on FOX UK in January.
Based on fictional famous author Eric Jonrosh’s best-selling novel, The Spoils of Babylon is a century-spanning saga, chronicles the sexy and dramatic lives of the Morehouse family, led by Jonas Morehouse, his daughter Cynthia and her adopted brother Devon who made their fortune in the oil business. The series takes viewers from the oil fields of Texas to boardrooms in New York City, through war torn battlefields and velvet-sheeted bedrooms. The Spoils of Babylon is produced by Funny Or Die and stars Jessica Alba, Will Ferrell, Jellybean Howie, Val Kilmer, Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan, Haley Joel Osment, Tim Robbins, Michael Sheen, David Spade, Steve Tom and Kristen Wiig.
The Spoils of Babylon marks the most significant comedy buy for FOX UK since the acquisitions of Louie and Men At Work last year. The broadcaster has remained very active on the drama side, however, with the acquisitions of TNT’s Mob City, Canadian drama series Endgame, NCIS season 11 and the third season of French drama series Braquo. FOX UK is also pushing forward with their commissioning plans and have, thus far, handed out commissions to Meet The Russians and Man Up.
