The CW’s new fall dramas are sticking around for the rest of the season.
The network has handed back nine, full season, orders to dramas The Originals, The Tomorrow People and Reign. The pickups come after the network previously ordered additional scripts for all three series following their decent ratings performance.
“In just a few seasons, we have built a much stronger primetime schedule,” said Mark Pedowitz, President of The CW. “Our on-air ratings are up year-to-year, and our digital viewing continues to grow exponentially. We’re excited about the creative momentum the producers have established for all three of our new series, and now our fans will have the chance to see the full stories unfold for them this season. With the additional episodes ordered, plus two new dramas and new reality for midseason, we’ll be able to continue our commitment to adding more original programming all year long.”
With these three back nine orders, The Originals, The Tomorrow People and Reign are the latest new series to receive pick ups following on from ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Goldbergs and Trophy Wife, CBS’ Mom, The Millers and The Crazy Ones, Fox’s Dads and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and NBC’s The Blacklist receiving full season orders. NBC’s Sean Saves The World and ABC’s Super Fun Night have also received partial back orders, while Fox’s Sleepy Hollow has been renewed for a second season.
