Channel 4 has ordered a six episode second season of their comedy series Man Down.
Created by Greg Davies, Man Down revolves around Dan (Greg Davies) a childish idiot trapped in an adults life. Dan has crushing character flaws, an unwanted teaching job, uniquely dysfunctional friends and a wilfully insane Dad, who all conspire to keep this Man down. The comedy series is produced by Avalon Television and stars Greg Davies, Roisin Conaty, Mike Wozniak, Jeany Spark, Rik Mayall and Gwyneth Powell.
The renewal comes as the series’ 6 episode first season is currently airing on channel and after the broadcaster previously ordered a Christmas Special, which is slated to air next month. Man Down premiered on October 18th to 2 million viewers and has since been a solid performer for Channel 4. Production on the show’s second season is slated to commence early next year, with Channel 4 eyeing a Autumn 2014 premiere.
“Greg has demonstrated himself to be a brilliant writer and performer over the first series of Man Down”, said Nerys Evans, Channel 4’s Deputy Head of Comedy. “We can’t wait to see what else he’s planning to put himself through in the name of comedy for the second series”.
While Greg Davies added: “I’m so delighted that Channel 4 has given me and the team another series of Man Down. Great news for us, terrible news for the characters…”
