ABC has finally made its calls regarding pick ups for their new fall comedies.
The alphabet network will not be ordering any further episodes of Back In The Game, effectively cancelling the freshman comedy. The series is not being pulled from the schedule, however, and will air all of its 13 episodes. In addition, ABC has handed full season, back nine, orders to The Goldbergs and Trophy Wife, while fellow freshman comedy Super Fun Night has received an order for 4 additional episodes, bringing its first season to 17 episodes.
With the pick ups The Goldbergs, Trophy Wife and Super Fun Night are the latest of the this season’s new entries to receive back orders/renewals. Other series to have received pick ups so far include ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Fox’s Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Dads, CBS’ The Crazy Ones, The Millers and Mom, and NBC’s The Blacklist, which have all received back-nine orders; and Fox’s Sleepy Hollow which has been renewed for a 13 episode second season. While the likes of ABC’s Lucky 7, CBS’ We Are Men and NBC’s Ironside and Welcome To The Family which have all been cancelled.
