The final Poirot TV movie, Curtain: Poirot’s Final Case, will premiere on ITV on Wednesday November 13th at 8pm, it has been announced.
Curtain: Poirot’s Last Case was adapted for television by Kevin Elyot and is based on the novel written by Agatha Christie (originally penned in the 1940′s, but not published until 1975). In Curtain, Poirot (David Suchet) and Captain Hastings (Hugh Fraser) return to Styles Court where Poirot declares that one of the guests is in fact a serial killer. According to the legendary detective, this serial killer is responsible for a string of murders, but has, so far, escaped detection from the authorities. Shortly after Poirot and Hastings arrival, a number of incidents occur in which Daisy Lutrell is injured, Barbara Franklin is killed in an apparent suicide and Stephen Norton is found dead in a locked room, having been shot in the head. Can Poirot catch the killer before he strikes again? Amongst the guests/suspects at Styles Court are Elizabeth Cole (Helen Baxendale), whose father was killed in on of the cases that Poirot believes this mysterious serial killer in fact committed; Colonel Toby Luttrell and Daisy Lutrell (Anne Reid); the owners of Styles court; Judith (Alice Orr-Ewing), Captain Hastings daughter; Major Allerton (Matthew McNulty); Stephen Norton, a birdwatcher staying at Styles Court; and Dr John Franklin (Shaun Dingwall), Judith’s boss who had been staying at Styles Court with his wife Barbara.
