Nick Lee has joined Channel 4’s acquisitions team in the newly created position of Acquired Series Manager. He joins from NBCUniversal after having served as Acquisitions Manager for TV Series, Feature Documentaries and Special Interest at the media giant for more than a year.
The appointment of Nick Lee comes after a period of change for Channel 4’s acquisitions department which saw the departure of former Head of Acquisitions Gill Hay, with the team now reporting to Director of Commercial Affairs Martin Baker. While editorial decisions on which acquisitions the company would buy would be made by Chief Creative Officer Jay Hunt and the channel management team. In his new role Nick Lee will be responsible for acquiring international content and, working in concert with the Channel Management and VOD teams, the creation and roll out of the strategy for Acquired Series across Channel 4’s portfolio and 4oD.
Speaking of Nick Lee’s appointment, Martin Baker, Director of Commercial Affairs said: “Channel 4’s acquisitions department has a fantastic track record in acquiring great series and Nick is the right man to build on that success.”
