ITV has renewed their long-running crime drama Law & Order: UK for an eighth season. The show’s eighth season has received an order for 8 episodes. Production is slated to commence next month, with ITV eyeing a 2014 premiere.
“ITV is delighted to see the return of Law & Order: UK,” said Jane Hudson, ITV’s Head of Drama series. “It’s a much loved dramaamongst our audience and they certainly won’t be disappointed by what’s in store for them this series.”
Based on the long-running US series Law & Order, Law & Order: UK follows the investigation of a major crime by the Metropolitan Police Service and the subsequent prosecution undertaken by the Crown Prosecution Service. The drama series is produced by Kudos Film and Television & Wolf Films and stars Bradley Walsh, Paul Nicholls, Dominic Rowan, Patterson Joseph, Georgia Taylor and Peter Davison.
The renewal comes after the show’s seventh season pulled in strong viewing figures for ITV; with the series winning its time slot on every occasion.
