TV Land's 'Happily Divorced' Cancelled After Two Seasons – TVWise

TV Land has cancelled Happily Divorced – which was recently acquired for broadcast in the UK by TLC – after airing two seasons of the Fran Drescher fronted comedy series, TVWise has confirmed.
Happily Divorced was created by Fran Drescher & Peter Marc Jacobson and is inspired by Fran Drescher’s real life. The series centers around Los Angeles florist Fran as she re-enters the dating world after finding out her realtor husband of 18 years is gay. The show focuses on how she juggles her new relationships and her ex-husband post-divorce while still living under the same roof. The cast is rounded out by Fran’s best friend Judi, her parents Dori and Glen, her flower delivery employee Cesar and Fran’s on-and-off love interest Elliot. The comedy series is produced by TV Land Original Productions and Uh-Oh Productions and stars Fran Drescher, John Michael Higgins, Tichina Arnold, Valente Rodriguez, Robert Walden, Rita Moreno and D.W. Moffett.
The news, which was first reported by Deadline, had been expected for some time. The last original episode of Happily Divorced aired some six months ago and since then the cable network has been quiet on the future of the series. Happily Divorced is the latest TV Land series to be cancelled, joining the likes of Retired At 35, as the net continues its push into originals.
