Kelly Reilly Cast In ABC's 'The Black Box' – TVWise

British actress Kelly Reilly has been cast as the lead in ABC’s upcoming 13 episode limited series The Black Box, TVWise has learned.
Reilly, whose previous credits include a lead role on ITV’s drama series Above Suspicion and more recently the Sherlock Holmes feature film series, will portray Elizabeth Black, a world-famous neuroscientist who unwraps the mysteries of the brain as she juggles complex issues of her own. Production is slated to commence later this year, with ABC eyeing a 2014 premiere.
Created by Amy Holden Jones, The Black Box follows world renowned neuroscientist Elizabeth Black who appears to have it all. In an impossible journey to find balance in her life, she is constantly haunted by her own struggle with mental illness. On the outside, Elizabeth has a special touch for the patients she treats at The Center for Neurological Research and Treatment, otherwise known as “The Cube.” However Elizabeth’s mental illness is not the only secret she’s kept locked away from her family and her new fiancé. The drama series is being produced by Bold Films with Anne Thomopoulos, Bryan Singer, Ilene Chaiken and Oly Obst serving as executive producers. Simon Curtis is attached to direct. Sierra/Engine is handling international distribution.
