James Strong, director of the acclaimed series Broadchurch, is set to helm From There To Here, a new drama commissioned by BBC One. The series is written by Peter Bowker and explores family and identity in the wake of the 1996 IRA bombing in Manchester.

Set across several years, the story follows a man caught between two families and two lives, as personal and national events intertwine. The project is being produced by Kudos Film and Television, known for Life on Mars and Spooks.

Strong’s involvement brings a visually rich and emotionally grounded approach to the material. The show promises to blend historical context with intimate storytelling, capturing both the trauma and resilience of the era.

Production is set to begin later this year.
