FOX Picks Up UK Rights To 'Eastbound & Down' Season 4, Sets October Premiere – TVWise

FOX has confirmed that, as part of an existing life-of-series deal, they have picked up the UK rights to the fourth and final season of the HBO comedy series Eastbound & Down, with plans to air said season within days of its US premiere (currently set for September 29th).
Created by Danny McBride, Ben Best and Jody Hill, Eastbound & Down follows a burned out baseball player who returns to his home town to teach physical education. The series stars Danny McBride, Steve Little, Ana de le Reguera, Michael Pena, Marco Rodriguez and Efren Ramirez. In the show’s third season, Kenny Powers finally made it back to the majors and recaptured his former glory, only to fake his own death and run back home to his beloved April, the mother of his child. The upcoming fourth season picks up the action several years later and finds Kenny living the American Dream with his family in North Carolina.
In addition to the fourth season of Eastbound & Down, FOX will (as TVWise previously reported) also be airing the third season of the FX comedy series Louie this Autumn. FOX has said that they will launch the new season with ‘The Late Show Trilogy’ (which aired state-side as episodes 10-12 of season 3), showing three hilarious and star-studded episodes back to back. In these episodes Louie is forced to be the main guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno when Tom Cruise doesn’t show up. His appearance on the show goes viral and he is asked if he is interested in replacing David Letterman as the new host of The Late Show. But he has competition in the form of Jerry Seinfeld. Guest stars across the trilogy include Chris Rock, David Lynch, Susan Sarandon and Paul Rudd.
