The third season of A&E’s crime drama series The Glades will receive its UK premiere on Alibi on Wednesday September 4th at 9pm, it has been announced.
Created by Clifton Campbell, The Glades follows the exploits of Jim Longworth, an attractive and brilliant Chicago homicide detective with a reputation for being difficult. When his captain wrongfully accuses him of sleeping with his wife and shoots him, he is exiled and forced to relocate. He lands in the sleepy, middle-of-nowhere town of Palm Glade, outside of the Florida Everglades. Longworth then joins the state police (the Florida Department of Law Enforcement) where he soon finds out this town isn’t quite as idyllic as he originally thought, when murders keep piling up. Each case pulls Longworth off the golf course and reluctantly into his element as one of the sharpest homicide detectives to wear a badge. The drama series stars Matt Passmore as Jim Longworth, Kiele Sanchez as Callie Cargill, Carlos Gomez as Carlos Sanchez, Uriah Shelton as Jeff Cargill, Jordan Wall as Daniel Green and Michelle Hurd as Colleen Manus. Joining the cast this season in a recurring role is Taylor Cole as Jenifer Starke, the new FDLE bureau chief.
In the show’s 10 episode third season, Callie (Kiele Sanchez) decides to stay in Palm Glade to make it work with Jim (Matt Passmore). However, when she finds jobs in the area to be scarce, their relationship is put to the test as she considers relocating for work. Meanwhile, the station gets shaken up when the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) sends Jennifer Starke (Taylor Cole), the beautiful, dynamic FDLE bureau chief, to evaluate the station’s successful track record in hopes to recreate its high arrest rate state-wide. It soon becomes clear that the success is largely due to Longworth’s unorthodox style of investigation. In order to accomplish her goal, the bureau chief decides to take a more hands on approach in her evaluation, creating an interesting tension between the striking bureau chief and the lone wolf Detective Longworth.
