Alexander Ludwig & Linus Roache Join History's 'Vikings' – TVWise

Alexander Ludwig (The Hunger Games) and Linus Roache (Law & Order) has joined the cast of History’s Vikings for its upcoming 10 episode second season.
Ludwig has been cast as Bjorn, the intelligent and bold warrior son of Ragnar Lothbrok; while Roache has been cast as Ecbert, King of Wessex, a man full of strength, knowledge and undisguised ambition. Production on the show’s second season is set to commence this Summer, with History eyeing a 2014 premiere.
Created by Michael Hirst, Vikings follows the adventures of Ragnar Lothbrok, a historical figure, and the greatest hero of his age – and the gripping sagas of Ragnar’s band of Viking brothers and his family – as he rises to become King of the Viking tribes. The series portrays the world of these Viking raiders, traders, explorers – not from an outsider’s view, but, through the eyes of Viking society. Vikings stars Gabriel Byrne (In Treatment), Travis Fimmel (The Beast), Jessalyn Gilsig (Glee), Gustaf Skarsgard (The Way Back), Clive Standen (Camelot) and Katheryn Winnick (Stand Up Guys).
