Following on from picking up four new dramas for next season, Fox has just picked up four comedy pilots to series. Those four are Brooklyn 99, Enlisted, Surviving Jack and Us And Them, with all three receiving 13 episode orders. They join Fox’s Dads, which was previously picked up with a six episode straight-to-series order.
Created by Dan Goor and Mike Schur, Brooklyn Nine-Nine follows a diverse group of detectives in a police precinct in New York City. The comedy series is produced by Universal Television and stars Andy Samberg, Andre Braugher, Melissa Fumero, Terry Crews, Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Lo Truglio and Chelsea Peretti. The executive producers are Schur, Goor and David Miner.
Created by Cougar Town‘s Kevin Biegel, Enlisted is a single-camera comedy which revolves around three very different brothers working together on a small Army base in Florida. At the center of the comedy is Sergeant Pete Waits (Geoff Stults) who gets transferred from Afghanistan back to a base in Florida after an altercation with a superior officer. It’s at this base that he is handed a tough assignment – leading his brother’s squad. The series is produced by 20th Century Fox Television and stars Geoff Stults, Keith David, Parker Young, Chris Lowell and Angelique Cabral. The pilot was directed by Phil Traill, is producing, with Biegel and Mike Royce serving as executive producers.
Surviving Jack (previously known as I Suck At Girls) is based on the Justin Halpern book and was penned by Halpern and Patrick Schumacker. The series tell the story of a boy becoming a man, and a man becoming a father, in a time before coming of age was something you could Google. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television & Doozer and stars Christopher Meloni, Alex Kapp Horner, Connor Buckley, Claudia Lee, Kevin Hernandez and Tyler Foden. The pilot was directed by Victor Nelli, with Bill Lawrence, Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker and Jeff Ingold serving as executive producers.
Based on the British series Gavin & Stacey, Us and Them (formerly known as Friends and Family) tells the story of two very different lovers who try to make a long-distance relationship work. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and BBC Worldwide Productions and stars Jason Ritter, Alexis Bledel, Jane Kaczmarek, Dustin Ybarra, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Kurt Fuller and Ashlie Atkinson. The pilot was directed by Michael Patrick Jann, with David Rosen, Jane Tranter, Julie Gardner, James Corden, Ruth Jones and Henry Normal serving as executive producers.
