BBC Two Sets Premiere Date For ‘The Politician’s Husband’ – TVWise

BBC Two’s three-part drama serial The Politicians Husband will premiere on Thursday April 25th at 9pm, it has been announced.
Penned by Paula Milne (White Heat), The Politician’s Husband, which is a book-end to the mid 1990′s serial The Politician’s Wife (also written by Paula Milne), follows the delicate balance in a political marriage and the ensuing consequences when the wife becomes more successful than her husband. Senior Cabinet Minister, Aiden Hoynes, is happily married to Freya, a junior minister. When we meet Aiden he is a rising star in Westminster. He went into Parliament driven by idealism, but after his son Noah was diagnosed with Aspergers he allowed himself to be sucked into the power games of Westminster, which provided him with a place to hide. Freya Gardner, although equally able, has put the brakes on her own political career in order to provide stability for the family. But even as a Junior Minister, most recognize she is a political star in the making. The drama stars David Tennant (Doctor Who), Emily Watson (War Horse), Ed Stoppard (Upstairs Downstairs), Jack Shepherd (The Nativity), Roger Allam (The Thick of It) and Oscar Kennedy (Hunted).
