TV Land Renews 'Hot In Cleveland' For Season 5 – TVWise

TV Land has renewed its highest rated comedy series Hot In Cleveland for a fifth season of 24 episodes. The renewal will bring the series past the 100 episode mark – oft cited as the magic number for syndication – with CBS Television Distribution having already sold the series to TV stations in 92% of the United States for a September 2014 launch.
Hot In Cleveland was created by Suzanne Martin and revolves around three best friends from the LA entertainment industry whose lives are changed forever when their plane, which was headed for Paris, unexpectedly lands in Cleveland. Finding themselves in this new promised land and loving their new home, the women find themselves living under one roof and battling the sassy caretaker of the property they have rented. The series stars Betty White as Elka Ostrovsky, Jane Leeves as Joy Scroggs, Wendie Malick as Victoria Chase and Valerie Bertinelli as Melanie Hope Moretti.
“This is an incredible milestone for the show and for TV Land,” said Larry W. Jones, President of TV Land. “To have our first scripted sitcom make it to the syndication level is a huge accomplishment. We have a brilliant creative team both in front of and behind the camera. We are so proud to be on this exciting ride with them.”
TVWise’s Cable TV Scorecard has been updated with this new information.
