TNT has picked up its Untitled Shane Brennan Private Eye Pilot (formerly known as King & Maxwell) to series with a 10 episode order. The as yet untitled series, which was originally developed for CBS before being re-tooled and landing a pilot order at TNT last September, is set to premiere this summer.
Based on David Baldacci’s King & Maxwell novel series, and developed by NCIS boss Shane Brennan, the drama series follows former US Secret Service agents turner Private Investigators Sean King and Michelle Maxwell who use their unique skill set (not to mention their razor-sharp chemistry) to gives themselves a leg up on both suspects and conventional law enforcement. With her striking beauty, athletic prowess and Beltway connections, Maxwell is a formidable investigator, determined to prove herself after being forced to resign from the Secret Service. King, a recovering alcoholic with a passion for romance novels, lost his job with the Secret Service when the presidential candidate he was assigned to protect was assassinated. Now, his background as a lawyer gives him a keen insight into the legal ins and outs necessary to do his job better than just about anyone. The drama series, producer by CBS Television Studios, stars Jon Tenney and Rebecca Romijn as Sean King and Michelle Maxwell; Ryan Hurst as Edgar Roy, a savant who helps King and Maxwell solve cases; Michael O’Keefe as Rigby and Chris Butler as Carter, two FBI agents who occasionally cross paths with King and Maxwell. The executive producers are Shane Brennan and Grant Anderson, Karen Spiegel is producing, with Baldacci serving as a consultant on the series.
