NBC has handed out pilot orders to three single-camera comedy projects: Assistance, Donor Party and Untitled Greg Daniels/Robert Padnick Comedy. This is the latest round of pilot orders for the peacock, the network has already handed pilot orders to dramas The Secret Lives of Husbands and Wives, I Am Victor, Bloodline, After Hours and comedies The Gates, About A Boy and Joe, Joe and Jane.
Assistance was created by Leslye Headland and follows an idealistic assistant who finds herself caught between her fiance and her “work husband”, all while trying to please her demanding boss. Gary Sanchez Productions and Universal Television are producing with Headland, Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Chris Henchy and Owen Burke serving as executive producers.
Created by Robert Padnick, the as yet Untitled Greg Daniels/Robert Padnick takes a look at the hardships of dating in your twenties, as explored by a group of friends. The comedy is being produced by Deedle Dee Productions, 3 Arts Entertainment & Universal Television with Padnick, Greg Daniels, Tracy Katsky and Howard Klein serving as executive producers.
Penned by Alex Schemmer, Donor Party has been described as a New Normal type ensemble comedy which follows and irresponsible man who is forced to grow up fast when he learns that he has children thanks to his days as a sperm donor. Lionsgate TV, Media Talent Group & Universal Television are producing with Schemmer and Geyer Kosinski serving as executive producers.
