Emilia Fox (Silent Witness), Dawn French (The Vicar of The Dibley), Nick Moran (Harry Potter), Rebecca Front (The Thick of It) and Sarah Solemani (Him & Her) have joined the cast of the upcoming BBC Two/Hulu co-produced comedy series The Wrong Mans. They join previously announced main cast members James Corden (Gavin & Stacey) and Matthew Baynton (Spy).
Created by James Corden and Matthew Baynton, The Wrong Mans follows two lowly office workers who get caught up in a deadly criminal conspiracy after one of them discovers a ringing phone at the scene of a horrific car crash. Answering this phone turns Sam’s world upside down, as he and Phil soon realize it is up to them to step up and save the day. They are in the wrong place, at the wrong time, with the wrong skills. They are The Wrong Mans. The comedy series is a co-production between BBC In House Comedy Production & Hulu (who will be airing the series in the US) BBC’s Head of Comedy, Mark Freeland, and Hulu’s Charlotte Koh are executive producing, Jim Field Smith is directing. The comedy series is currently in production and stars Matthew Baynton as Sam, James Corden as Phile, Emilia Fox as Scarlett and Nick Moran as Stevens, two people at the heart of the conpiracy; Dawn French as Linda Bourne, Phil’s mother; Rebecca Front as Cox, the DG of MI5; and Sarah Solemani as Lizzie Green, Sam’s boss and ex-girlfriend. While not receiving star billing, other members of the cast include Karl Roden (The Bourne Supremacy), Stephen Campbell Moore (The History Boys), Dan Renton Skinner (Shooting Stars), Benedict Wong (Prometheus), Tom Basden (Cowards) and Rufus Jones (Bob Servant Independent).
