And the first casualty of 2012 – 2013 season is CBS’ Friday night drama series Made In Jersey. The eye network has pulled the low rated drama from its Friday night 8pm time-slot, effective immediately. Taking Made In Jersey‘s place is unscipted series Undercover Boss, which will assume the 8pm Friday night time-slot from November 2nd.
Created by Dana Calvo, Made In Jersey followed Martina Garretti, who finds her firm’s cutthroat landscape challenging, but what she lacks in an Ivy League education she more than makes up for with tenacity and blue-collar insight. After just a few weeks, firm founder Donovan Stark (Kyle MacLachlan), takes note of Martina’s ingenuity and resourcefulness, as does her sassy secretary Cyndi Vega. With the support of her big Italian family, including her sexy older sister Bonnie, Martina is able to stay true to her roots as a bold, passionate lawyer on the rise in a new intimidating environment. The drama series was produced by Sony Pictures Television & CBS Television Studios and starred Janet Montgomery, Stephanie March, Kyle MacLachlan, Erin Cummings, Toni Trucks, Felix Solis, Pablo Schreiber and Donna Murphy.
The cancellation of Made In Jersey comes after the series aired only 2 episodes. The writing had been on the wall for the series which, despite a respectable number of total viewers, appeared to be skewing older. The series premiere on Friday September 28th pulled in 7.8 million total viewers and a 1.1 rating in the 18-49 demo, in live+same day. The most recent episode saw a drop in both total viewers and in the demo, drawing in a mere 6.8 million total viewers and a 0.8 rating, in live+same day.
