Lifetime Renews 'Army Wives' For Seventh Season – TVWise

Lifetime has renewed its veteran drama series Army Wives for a seventh season of 13 episodes, which is set to air in 2013.
Based on the book Army Wives: The Unwritten Code of Military Marriage by Tanya Biank, Army Wives follows the struggles, dreams and friendships of a diverse group of women, and one man, living with their spouses and families on an active army base. The series is produced by ABC Studios and stars Kim Delaney, Sally Pressman, Brigid Brannagh, Brian McNamara, Sterling K. Brown, Wendy Davis, Drew Fuller, Terry Serpico, Katelyn Pippy and Catherine Bell.
The long running drama series has shown no signs of slowing down. Across its sixth season, which wrapped its run on Lifetime on September 9th, the series averaged 3.2 million total viewers and was the number one ad-supported cable series in its premiere time period among Women 18+.
Speaking of the renewal of Army Wives, Rob Sharenow, Executive Vice President of Programming for Lifetime Networks, said: “Army Wives is a very special program. It’s rare to find a series that connects with viewers and resonates so powerfully after six straight seasons, and we couldn’t be prouder to have it return to Lifetime next year.”
