Trisha Goddard is returning to Channel 5. I have just learned that Channel 5 has closed a deal with NBCUniversal International Television Distribution to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to Trisha Goddard’s new US daytime talk show Trisha. The series, which is aired in first-run syndication in the US, is set to premiere on Channel 5 in mid-October.
Trisha features conflict-resolution expert Trisha Goddard as she helps everyday people and their families navigate through tough issues they are struggling to overcome. Her show covers topics important to viewers everywhere with her signature straight talk, warm heart approach. On each episode, Trisha uses honesty and common sense to teach people how to move forward and push through life’s obstacles. The series is produced by Stamford Media Center Productions, the same production team behind several long-running and successful NBCU talk shows including The Jerry Springer Show, The Steve Wilkos Show and Maury.
Goddard segued into hosting her own syndicaed talk show after her frequent appearances on Maury over the past few seasons as a guest host and conflict expert. Prior to that she hosted her own talk show in the UK, initally for ITV and later for Channel 5, until the broadcaster announced in 2009 that the series would not be returning.
