BBC Three Orders Two-Hour Drama 'One Day Like This' – TVWise

EXCLUSIVE: I have just learned that BBC Three has ordered a new two-hour drama titled One Day Like This from Northern Irish TV writer Terry Cafolla (Camelot).
Penned by Cafolla, One Day Like This is said to revolve around the Harper family, whose young daughter Leah is killed in a car accident. Darlow Smithson Productions is producing with Nick Pitt serving as producer and Sarah Walker on-board as director. I hear that the inspiration for the script was the statistic that car accidents are the biggest killer of young people and that the most likely cause of death for a woman under the age of 24 is the driving of her partner.
Details of this one are coming in a little late, but I hear that the broadcaster actually gave the green-light back in May and the drama is currently being shot on location in Scotland. I’m still waiting to hear back from some of my other sources on casting and I’m also being told that this drama may form part of BBC Three’s Christmas line-up. “They’re shooting it right now”, one insider tells me. “I think the plan is to air this later this year, maybe around Christmas. If not it’ll be early 2013.”
