Exclusive: It looks like Hot In Cleveland‘s days on Sky Living are numbered. I have just learned that Sony Entertainment Television has closed a deal to acquire the exclusive first run UK broadcast rights to the third season of TV Land’s award winning comedy series Hot In Cleveland. I’m also being told the the show’s 24 episode third season will premiere on the channel on Friday September 14th at 8:30pm, with a double-bill.
Hot In Cleveland was created by Suzanne Martin and revolves around three best friends from the LA entertainment industry whose lives are changed forever when their plane, which was headed for Paris, unexpectedly lands in Cleveland. Finding themselves in this new promised land and loving their new home, the women find themselves living under one roof and battling the sassy caretaker of the property they have rented. The series stars Betty White as Elka Ostrovsky, Jane Leeves as Joy Scroggs, Wendie Malick as Victoria Chase and Valerie Bertinelli as Melanie Hope Moretti.
Sony Entertainment Television’s acquisition of the series comes just as the series’ current UK broadcaster, Sky Living, is airing the show’s second season. There had been chatter that the show’s third season would not be coming to Sky Living, which aired the first ten episodes of the show’s second season between April and June 2011, before it returned to finish its run this past June.
TVWise’s UK Premiere Dates page has been updated with this new information.
