Phil Davis (Silk) has joined the cast of BBC Three’s supernatural drama series Being Human as a series regular for its upcoming fifth season, TVWise has learned.
Davis has been cast as Captain Hatch, an army captain with a failing body who is now confined to a wheelchair. Hatch embodies the worst in humanity: he’s bitter, manipulative, obsequious and cruel. But those aren’t even the worst things about the aged army captain; beneath his decrepit exterior there lies within him a dark and toxic secret that could rattle your soul with fear.
Speaking of his new role on Being Human, Davis said: “I’m very excited to be joining the cast of Being Human for series 5. It’s a great show. I’ll be playing Captain Hatch. I don’t want to give too much away about the character at this early stage but I can reveal that he is marvellously disgusting. I’m busy researching now.”
The supernatural drama series was created by Toby Whithouse and follows a group of supernatural creatures all trying to live normal lives, in effect “being human”. The series is produced by Touchpaper Television, a Zodiak Media company, and has already spawned a North American remake. Being Human was recently renewed for a fifth season, after the fouth season premiered to 1.2 million viewers and maintained an average of 950,000 viewers across its 6 episode run.
