ITV Sets Premiere Date For 'The Last Weekend' – TVWise

ITV has announced that their three part drama The Last Weekend will premiere on Sunday August 19th at 9pm.
Based on the bestselling novel by Black Morrision and adapted for television by Mick Ford, The Last Weekend follows two couples, with a long shared history, on what should be a relaxing summer holiday. The weekend break is a rare chance for both couples to reminisce and spend time together as they inhabit vastly different worlds in their everyday lives. However, it unwittingly becomes the catalyst to revealing underlying fault lines that punctuate Ian and Ollie’s unlikeley friendship and brings the sexual tensions, creeping unease and competitiveness between the two men bubbling to the surface. It should be an idyllic four days but by Friday afternoon they have resurrected an old bet, the stakes of which mount higher and higher. As their rivalry gathers momentum, the weather becomes ever more oppressive and dormant sexual tensions begin to surface which results in a horrendous and catastrophic outcome for all. The three part drama is produced by NBCUniversal’s Carnival Films and stars Rupert Penry-Jones (Silk), Shaun Evans (Endeavour), Genevieve O’Reilly (Law & Order: UK) and Claire Keelan (Line of Duty).
